Can I also purchase Cloud Control or other PowerDNS products?
Cloud Control and other PowerDNS products are currently not part of the PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials offering. As a result, Docker images are not available for the products included in this package. If you would like to extend your solution with additional products such as Cloud Control for a cloud-native deployment, please contact us. We will be happy to work with you to identify a suitable option.
Are Ansible roles available for installing the products included in PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials?
Yes, Ansible roles are included with PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials. After purchase, you will be provided with access to the Ansible roles for installing the PowerDNS Authoritative Server and ZoneControl.
Which operating systems are supported by the products included in PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials?
The supported operating systems for the PowerDNS Authoritative Server can be found on repo.powerdns.com. ZoneControl packages are available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL 8) and 9 (RHEL 9), as well as for Debian Bookworm.
What payment methods are available?
You can pay by credit card during the checkout process. Please note that purchase orders are not supported for PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials. However, you can manually add a purchase order of your choice to the invoice during the purchasing process.
How do I access the software?
Once your payment has been processed, you will receive access to the PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials software for installation. You will be provided with links to the PowerDNS Authoritative Server source code, a ZoneControl repository, as well as installation and configuration guides.

You will have access to detailed self-service installation guides, including best practice configurations. In addition, you can contact PowerDNS support via email if you encounter any issues. Our engineers are available during business hours and will respond according to SLAs based on severity levels.

How does billing work?
PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials is offered as a one-year subscription, paid upfront. Payment can be made by credit card or direct debit. You will receive your invoice via email. Unless canceled, your subscription will automatically renew for another year.
How are the cores that limit the packages defined?
The limit of 8, 16, or 24 cores refers to the total number of cores used by the operating system running our software. You may install as many instances of the Authoritative Server and ZoneControl as you like, provided that the operating system hosting them does not exceed the respective limit of 8, 16, or 24 cores.
What is the cancellation period?
You can cancel your PowerDNS Authoritative Essentials subscription at any time during the contract year. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your contract year.
